Apple Users Can Now Quickly & Easily Generate HTC Vive Apps Using InstaVR’s Web-Based Solution, With No Coding Required
(June 6, 2017, San Francisco, CA) InstaVR, Inc., a virtual reality (VR) authoring, publishing, and analysis company, announced today the availability of single-click HTC Vive publishing for users of the headset with compatible Mac computers.
In February, InstaVR launched HTC Vive publishing compatibility, along with our flagship Vive publishing client Toyota. Since then, InstaVR Pro users have been able to create VR experiences for the platform using 360-degree images, videos, and computer-generated media. With no coding required, InstaVR’s platform instantly makes any individual or company with appropriate hardware publish-ready for the premium VR headset.
At WWDC yesterday, Apple announced official, native support for the HTC Vive ecosystem. In parallel, InstaVR clients using Macs can now publish and run their VR apps on Vive-compatible Apple computers as well. This greatly expands the addressable number of potential HTC Vive users, and the number of VR experiences created using InstaVR for the HTC Vive.
To run InstaVR generated apps on the HTC Vive, you will need a compatible computer, such as the new iMac 27 inch Pro announced at WWDC. That computer runs on a powerful AMD Radeon Pro Vega GPU optimized for Virtual Reality. Apple has also released its very own external graphics enclosure, and is offering members of its Apple Developer Program $100 of purchase on the HTC Vive.
“We take a lot of pride in having a flexible solution that allows users to easily publish across the major VR headsets,” said Daniel Haga, Founder and CEO of InstaVR. “We’re excited that Apple is partnering with HTC Vive to allow Mac users access to the powerful platform. And we’re particularly proud of enabling our Mac clients to publish their VR apps for HTC Vive from the first day of availability.”
