InstaVR clients can author Oculus Go applications now, publish them on first day of availability
SAN JOSE, CA (OCTOBER 12, 2017)
InstaVR, Inc., a virtual reality (VR) authoring, publishing, and analysis company, announced today compatibility with Oculus Go, the new standalone headset from Facebook’s Oculus division, which will begin shipping in early 2018.
Onstage at Oculus Connect 4 in San Jose, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled the new headset named Oculus Go. According to Zuckerberg, “It’s the most accessible VR experience ever.”
Oculus Go, an all-in-one portable device, will come with a stylish lightweight headset, high-resolution LCD screen, spatial audio built into the headset, and a hand controller. The highly anticipated VR headset, from the makers of the Oculus Rift, will likely compete for the same types of customers as Samsung’s Gear VR and Google’s Daydream platforms, and is expected to retail for $199 USD.
InstaVR, the largest provider of web-based VR authoring tools, is proud to announce publishing capabilities for Oculus Go effective immediately. Just as InstaVR has supported publishing for Samsung’s Gear VR from launch, the same underlying technology powers the Oculus Go platform. Meaning top InstaVR clients utilizing Gear VR publishing, such as Sanrio/Hello Kitty, AECOM, Left of Creative (US Navy), and TUI Group will be able to replicate their existing Gear VR applications to the Oculus Go with a single click, as well as build new ones.
In addition, InstaVR’s previously announced hand controller compatibility and spatial audio compatibility will be applicable for Oculus Go publishing.
“We’re very excited for the Oculus Go headset and expect it to have broad appeal upon launch,” said Daniel Haga, Founder and President of InstaVR. “Our current clients like AECOM and Hello Kitty have really embraced the benefits of powerful mobile VR platforms like Gear VR. A new standalone headset, particularly one as impressive as Oculus Go, gives them another outlet to showcase their InstaVR-created virtual reality experiences.”
Oculus Go publishing will be included as part of InstaVR Pro subscriptions. To sign up for a free account to trial InstaVR, visit https://www.instavr.co.
